The Cheapest Way to Run 70B LLMs Locally in the UK (2026): DGX Spark vs Mac Studio vs Arc Pro
You want to run a 70B-class model on your own hardware in the UK. Here are the actual routes and the actual prices, as of July 2026. We sell one of these options, so read with that in mind, but every number below is real and checkable.

The honest comparison
If you want zero effort: the Mac Studio is the quietest, simplest 70B box you can buy in the UK today. You pay roughly £3,600 for the privilege and you live inside the Apple ecosystem.
If you want maximum model size: DGX Spark class machines fit the biggest models (128GB), but the 273 GB/s bandwidth means big models run slowly. Good for development, frustrating for serving.
If you want maximum speed and money is secondary: RTX. But at UK prices, getting 48GB+ of NVIDIA VRAM costs multiples of everything else here.
If you want the cheapest working 70B seat: the Arc Pro B60 Dual is not close. At £1,699.99 the card costs less than half of any complete alternative, and a full build around it lands well under every prebuilt option above. vLLM added official Arc Pro B-series support in late 2025 and independent benchmarks show multi-GPU Arc boxes serving 50+ concurrent requests, so the software objection is aging fast. The trade: you build it (or we do), and you check your motherboard supports x8/x8 bifurcation first.
