What "refurbished" means here — precisely

It does not mean second-hand machines resold as-is. We buy professionally tested refurbished graphics cards, processors and memory, and build brand new systems around them. In the Luz, for example, the graphics card, processor and RAM are refurbished; the motherboard, power supply, storage, cooling, case and Windows licence are all new. Every product page states exactly which parts are refurbished. No exceptions, no small print.

Every part is tested twice

Each refurbished component is tested on arrival, then stress tested again inside the completed build before it ships. If a part shows any instability it does not go in a customer machine. Refurbished parts carry exactly the same parts and labour warranty as new ones — there is no lesser tier of cover.

Why this is better value than buying new

Graphics cards lose retail value far faster than they lose performance. A tested GTX 1660 Super still delivers 165 FPS in Fortnite; it simply is not the current model number. By sourcing those parts properly we put roughly £150 of extra performance into a £499 build. It is also meaningfully less e-waste — a working card gets a second life instead of landfill.
